Curious where the books you donated last year to Belize ended up? Then check out these pictures on the San Ignacio Public Library’s Facebook page. They were taken on the happy day St. Philip’s alum, Kimberly Miralda and her brother, 6th grader Joseph Spence delivered the many boxes of books, videos and literacy resources they’d collected during the Books for Belize drive last school year. The local librarian, the town mayor and a room full of enthusiastic young readers were on hand to receive them.
Kimberly and Joseph started a foundation this summer to continue their philanthropic work in Belize. If you have books or videos you’re finished with and would like to donate to the San Ignacio Public Library, put them in the box in the Media Center marked “Books for Belize”. Thank you!

Did you know that if you attend school in Newark , you can get a library card from Newark Public Library, even if you don’t live in Newark? To apply for a Newark Public Library card , just go to the library with your parent or guardian and show them proof that you go to school in Newark (for example: a bill from the school or a report card ) and proof of residency( for example an electricity bill) . Then start taking advantage of all the public library has to offer!
